  • How much two part do u dose?

Just wanna know how much two part people dose a day or week or??? I'm ready to set up my dosers and just wondering what everyone else's consumption is!

Bill i think it varies from the tanks individual needs. i think the best way to do it to test your Alk and Calcium, then start off with a small dose and retest the day at the same time. if those numbers have went up or down then adjust your dosing accordingly. then once you get it to stay about the same, that is your sweet spot until everything starts growing out. i am doing this currently with my CA reactor and for example, my tanks needs are much smaller than Hollbacks- who is helping me set it up. as our tanks grow they will consume more and the amount needed will change.
hope that helps man! and i wanna see that tank when you get it set up buddy

Bill, this is a good starting point in figuring out how much you should be adding.

I have 2 clams and lots of sps but only 15 ml of ca and 8 ml of alk. Levels are 430 and 10.9 with Red Sea tests. What kind of dosers do you have?

check out bulk reef supply. They have a calculator that will tell you exactly how much you need to add and suggest a safe plan for the dosing. Videos on their site will catch the majority of questions and get you going in the right direction

Thanks guys, I know what my consumption is. I was just wondering who's dosing how much because I've seen alot of your tanks and just seeing who's setup needs what. Thanks for the advice.

I dose about 110 ml of each daily with BRS dosers and BRS chemicals. B-ionic is more concentrated compared to the DIY recipes, so you'll need significantly less if going that route, but it's also more expensive.

Wow alex lol! Your system is heavily sps dominated right? Right now I'm about 30ml a day

Right now with our heavily stocked 265g sps tank we are dosing around 270ml of each daily using B ionic. Dkh stays around 11 and Ca around 425 with mag at 1350 or so.

I dose 620ml each day. Go through a gallon of each; Alk and Calcium every 6 days. Dosing is done via Apex. It doses 26ml per hour.

                      I dose 620ml each day.

Is that both combined at 620 i'm assuming? Do you dose your calc and alk equally or one more so than the other?

Also are you using B-ionic or diy supplements? If diy can you tell us what recipe you use? If you use the Randy Farley recipe 1or 2?

It is 620ml of each, 1 gallon of Alk + 1 gallon of Calcium every 6 days. I use the BRS products. 2 cups of Soda Ash Per Gallon for Alk and 2.5 cups Calcium per gallon.

I have always used BRS stuff so I just check prices to see what b-ionic would cost. I came up with $2500 annually for all three salts (Alk/CA/MAG). BRS costs me about 450$ annually.

lol.... A reactor would likely save me a lot of money. It would also dose the extra elements. I am just afraid to make the change. Coral are growing well and look nice.

I am curious to see however my Triton test results. I don't dose any of the trace elements. With that much consumption of the major elements will be interesting to see if the minor elements are severely depleted. I only do about a 20% water change every 4-8 weeks.
